Newsletter

Chapter 522 published newsletters for our members from 1990-2016. As we begin 2017, our chapter is currently looking for a volunteer to serve as newsletter editor. The latest version of our newsletter was being published electronically (and periodically in a printed format) on a monthly basis. We used personal e-mail addresses as our primary means of delivery. Our newsletter was selected as the VVA Florida State Council Newsletter of the Year in 2008 and 2015.

The name of our latest newsletter was Five Double Deuce. The name signified the number assigned to the chapter by our national organization. The newsletter was a full-color publication that typically had 8-12 pages of content.  It was normally published near the end of the third week of each month. The newsletter was also e-mailed to friends and associates of Chapter 522 who had expressed an interest in reading our newsletter each month.

The newsletters for 2015 and 2016 have been posted on our website for readers who may have an interest in reading past editions. We also have copies of every newsletter issued prior to 2015 for anyone who might have an interest in those editions.

The primary goal of the newsletter was to provide information to our members about recent activities undertaken by the chapter as well as details concerning future events and projects. We tried to publish informative articles about medical benefits available to veterans, issues related to retirement, and news about our current military. The newsletters generally included a little humor and some thoughtful content in the form of pictures, cartoons, quotations, and other public domain information directed toward military personnel - either active or retired.

All published newsletters for 2016 and 2015 are available on our website under the “Newsletter” button on the navigation bar.
